On September 13, held in Valencia (Spain) the 6th Global Conference on TechMining, in the context of STI 2016, the International Conference on Science and technology indicators promoted by the INGENUITY Institute of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

Tech Mining or data mining, applied as a technique for Big Data for the analysis of large amounts of data, aims to generate Competitive technical intelligence (CTI), using techniques and software specialized in Bibliometrics and mining of texts as well as other analytical applications and visualization for the analysis of science, technology and innovation from a documentary perspective and information management.

the aim of this International Conference is to involve the cross-cutting networks of analysts, software specialists, researchers, legislators and administrators to advance the use of textual information in multiple disciplines of science, technology and business development.

The programme will focus on three main themes:

  • Data: recovery, treatment and analysis of data and information resources, including patents, scientific publications and webscraping, among others.
  • Methods and text mining tools: best practices, specialized software and visualization.
  • Applied research: prospective analysis of technology, support for decision-making in organizations and innovation and technology management teams.

This Conference is aimed at professionals, researchers and students in many fields of activity, linked to the Scientometrics, public policies, management of technology and information science.
