From January 18 to 21 is held virtually from Santiago de Chile the 10th Congress of the Future. This is a benchmark event for the social dissemination of science and technology in the country, organized as a cross-cutting initiative by the Fundación Encuentros del Futuro ( FEF) and the Senate Challenges of the Future Commission.

The slogan “Inhabiting uncertainty”, stands out for an innovative digital commitment that seeks to adapt to the new context of the global pandemic. Among the great diversity of topics and exhibitors, there is the participation of four Nobel Prizes, such as Didier Queloz (2019), Reinhard Genzel (2020) and Kip Thorne (2017) and Joseph Stiglitz (2001). Other references will also participate such as the president of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists and in charge of the “Apocalypse Clock”, Rachel Bronson; Eli Parisier, creator of the concept of the “Bubble Effect”; Yu Hyun Park, a specialist in Digital Education, and Alyssa Carson, a teenage NASA astronaut who seeks to be the first woman to set foot on Mars.

Also, for another year, the congress will make a special effort to involve the country’s regions, promoting activities aimed at encouraging the active participation of citizens, universities and research centres for the dissemination of knowledge.
