On July 2nd is held in Barcelona (Spain) the Conference on “Why Patents are Important ?: Technology watch and Freedom To Operate (FTO)”, promoted by Barcelona Tech City with the collaboration of Ponti.
In the current context, innovation environments are increasingly complex and it is essential to be aware of who is relevant in a given technical field and what intellectual property rights exist in relation to competing or complementary technologies. Practices such as technology watch or analysis such as Freedom To Operate (FTO) allow to optimize efforts in innovation and, in turn, limit the risks of infringement against third parties.
