- Barcelona, Spain
On July 2nd is held in Barcelona (Spain) the Conference on “Why Patents are Important ?: Technology watch and Freedom To Operate (FTO)”, promoted by Barcelona Tech City with the collaboration of Ponti.
In the current context, innovation environments are increasingly complex and it is essential to be aware of who is relevant in a given technical field and what intellectual property rights exist in relation to competing or complementary technologies. Practices such as technology watch or analysis such as Freedom To Operate (FTO) allow to optimize efforts in innovation and, in turn, limit the risks of infringement against third parties.
The infoday aims to guide companies on how to deal with these new challenges, specifically in the field of mobility and automotive. To do this, talks are proposed such as:
Industrial property as a strategic asset for technology-based companies, taught by Josep Mª Pujals, Lawyer. Head of Business Development. Ponti & Partners, SLP.
Technology watch and FTO as tools for innovation, taught by Maria Mercè Vidal, European Patent Agent. Head of Patent Department. Ponti & Partners, SLP.
SEAT experience. How the IP Department faces the new challenges of innovation in the automotive sector, taught by Gerard Vidal. Management of patents and industrial property. SEAT
