TRANSFIERE 2013, European Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation, held its second edition, the 13th and 14th of February in the Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Málaga (Fycma),

This second edition of TRANSFIERE 2013 has had the participation of more than 200 companies and institutions, around 250 research groups and many Spanish universities. It has generated more than 1.600 technology offers and requests and around 2.700 bilateral meetings of different types among the participants during these three days.

TRANSFIERE 2013 has combined different types of activities to generate debate and collective reflection around the Spanish innovation system and also about the improvement of the relationship between universities, companies and society. There was:

  • A “Trend Area”: 5 round tables that have had the participation of 25 international speakers and have talked about subjects such as scientific and technological parks, the technology transfer and the world-wide models; the public innovation purchase as an instrument to consider in technology transfer; innovative experiences and being able to adapt to the territory resources in order to give answer to the operative needs of companies. Also the way of promotion technological entrepreneurship and boost the development of new business opportunities related with technology.

  • “Speaker Corner”: 63 brief presentations about experiences developed by different agents of the Spanish innovation system, such as research lines and technology novelties. the speakers were scientists and managers from Universities, Research Public Organisms, Technological Centres, Technological Parks and Innovative companies.

The University of Alicante has taken part in this edition of TRANSFERS 2013, through the Technology Transfer Office (SGITT-OTRI) and the Virtual Observatory for Technology Transfer (OVTT). There were presented the capacities and research results of the University as well as the virtual platform OVTT in several bilateral meetings.

The results of these bilateral meetings have been very positive, especially for dissemination of the functionalities of the virtual platform (OVTT) and also for collaboration opportunities with different innovation agents in order to broaden the project network.

TRANSFIERE will be back to Málaga (Spain) the 12th and 13th of February next year 2014, betting by promoting international participation and to facilitate technology transfer between the University and the productive sector.
