The past 8th of March the Virtual Observatory for Technology Transfer (OVTT) participated in the Workshop “Innovation and technology watch for the business competitiveness”, organised by the University of Costa Rica (UCR), through the Chair of Innovation and Business Development and the Chambers of Industries of Costa Rica (CICR), with the collaboration among others of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Costa Rica (MICIT). Virtual Conference was performed thanks to the experimental use of Livestream:
The program of the Workshop “Innovation and technology watch for business competitiveness” was the following:
- 08:00 – 10:00 am – “Innovation, adding value and technology plan of the company”, with Dr. Antonio Hidalgo Nuchera, Chair Professor of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UCM).
- 10:30 – 11:30 am – “Virtual Observatory for Technology Transfer (OVTT): Intelligent Management of the information in network”, with Sofia Oliveira Pires, Ph.D, coordinator of the project, and the Ms. Alba Santa Soriano, responsible of Communication and Public Relations of the OVTT, University of Alicante (UA).
- 11:30 – 12:30 am – “Importance of technology watch for innovation”, with the Engineer Mauricio Villegas Rojas, Innovation Agent in PROINNOVA UCR.
In the workshop participated around 40 professionals from universities, companies, institutions related with the promotion of research and innovation, interested in betting for technological development and innovation in order to give answer to challenges and to be competitive in the global world.
As an introduction to this virtual conference, the OVTT had the participation of Mr. Víctor Manuel Pérez Lozano, Sub-Director of the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Alicante (SGITT-OTRI), who described a brief review of this service focussed on University-Industry relationship to support and reinforce the innovative capacity of the companies from the University of Alicante.
The main objective of the Virtual Observatory for Technology Transfer in this virtual conference was to encourage the participants to the process of technology watch, providing concepts, tools and methodologies to learn how to search and manage scientific and technological information. This process leads the user to take out the maximum advantage of business opportunities and professional development that the intelligent management of information offers today in Internet.
The OVTT platform is an open space of information, exchange and collaboration in Internet, free from any place of the world, where one can be updated with the last novelties of a sector and use the digital tools for technology watch (OBSERVA and ALERTS).
