The Innovative Business Partnerships Program (AEI) of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade (MITT), developed by the Directorate General of SME Policy and launched in 2007, is part of the European strategy to promote competitiveness through the creation and development of innovative clusters.
AEI Program provides several lines of support for the establishment and strengthening of such groups. These lines are:
- Aid for developing strategic plans.
- elps fund structures for coordination, management and administration of the AEI formed.
- Grants for the development of specific projects designed to strengthen the innovative potential of firms in the cluster.
- elps promote joint or consortium projects between different AEI, Spanish or clustering them with similar characteristics based in other European Union countries.
